§ 14-126. Required.
No electric wiring and apparatus shall be installed, altered, or changed within the city limits unless a permit has first been obtained therefor from the authority having jurisdiction. However, this section shall not apply to minor repair work, such as the repair of flush and snap switches; replacing fuses; changing lamp sockets and receptacles; taping bare joints; and repairing drop cords, plug-in appliances or devices with a disconnect. Any master electrician shall be permitted to make repairs replacing a device with a like device and shall have the privilege of making any minor repair or alteration when the labor and materials do not exceed $20.00.
