  • (a)

Every applicant for a permit to install, alter or change any electric wiring and/or apparatus shall first file an application therefor with the authority having jurisdiction describing the proposed installation, alteration or change, including the apparatus and materials to be used. The permit application shall be initiated by a licensed master electrician employed to do such installation, alteration or change, on forms furnished by the city, and shall contain a description of all electrical work to be done along with the street address and/or city lot and block number of the property, name of the owner of the property, the owner's agent or any person employed to do the work.

    (b)

On all electrical project sites, a master or journeyman electrician currently licensed by the city shall be present and responsible for all the electrical system installations, deletions or changes while work is being performed.

    (c)

Where work for which a permit is required by this division is commenced prior to obtaining the permit, the fees specified shall be doubled, but the payment of such double fee shall not relieve any person from fully complying with the requirements of the currently adopted electrical code or all other sections of this article in the execution of the work nor from any other penalties prescribed in this article or in laws.
