§ 14-170. Dangerous conditions; notice.

  • Whenever the authority having jurisdiction suspects or acting upon a complaint received that any electric wiring or apparatus within the city is in a dangerous or unsafe condition or interferes with the work of the fire department, an inspection of wiring and apparatus shall be made and, if such conditions are found to exist, shall notify the person owning, using or operating the wiring and apparatus to place the wiring and apparatus in a safe, secure and noninterfering condition. When such conditions exist where life or property is in immediate danger, the authority having jurisdiction is authorized to remedy the unsafe condition by whatever means necessary, including termination of electrical service where such unsafe conditions exist.
