§ 72-47. Storage tanks and separators.
It shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to use, construct or operate in connection with any producing well within the city limits any storage tanks except to the extent of a maximum of four steel or fiberglass tanks, not exceeding 500 barrels capacity each and so constructed and maintained as to be vapor tight with connecting overflow, and each surrounded separately with an earthen fire wall at such distance and at such height as will, under any circumstances, hold and retail at least one and one-half times the maximum capacity of each tank. Separators shall be of high test of the minimum of 6,000 pounds and shall be equipped with both a regulation pressure-relief safety valve and a bursting head. The tanks and separators shall not be located within 300 feet of residence or structure except when the permittee has secured and presented to the city secretary the written permission of the owner or owners of those structures within 300 feet.
